Fatty liver is an accumulation of fat in the liver and is medically called steatosis. Instead of burning and getting rid of excess fat from the body, fat deposits start building up in the body. This is not healthy in the long run as it affects the smooth functioning of the liver. Poor diet, obesity, diabetes, alcohol intake, some drugs and an exposure to toxic substances can lead to fatty liver.
Symptoms in the case of fatty liver are rare and may include pain on the right side of the body or under the rib cage, fever, jaundice or abdominal pain. Liver disorders can also cause irritability, headaches, bad breath, mood swings, indigestion, fluid retention and a lack of mental alertness. If not attended to properly, fatty liver can lead to inflammation of the liver cells and is called steatohepatitis. Regeneration of the liver cells is possible by proper care and a well balanced diet.
Switching to a healthy life style is highly recommended. Exercising regularly reduces excess weight and aids blood circulation. Alcohol, tobacco, drug use, and oily, spicy or fatty foods should be avoided completely. Light foods like salads and boiled or baked vegetables and meat are beneficial for strengthening the liver. Foods high in fiber and low in calories and saturated fats are recommended.
The immune system plays an important role in the regeneration of the liver cells and hence should be strengthened. Grapefruit is rich in vitamin C, and is known for its ability to burn fats. It also helps restrict the development of fatty liver. Drinking plenty of water and fresh fruit juices assists in detoxifying the liver. Milk Thistle is the best known home remedy for detoxifying and healing the liver.
Artichoke increases the production of bile, breaks down fats and strengthens the walls of the liver. Licorice protects and heals the liver due to its anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant properties. Dandelion is known for its gentle liver cleansing abilities. A mixture of milk thistle, licorice, artichoke and dandelion is effective in cleansing and rebuilding the liver. Rosemary and phyllanthus restore the normal functioning of the liver.
Symptoms of Liver Disease:
Digestion & Appetite
The most common symptom of liver disease is drop in appetite that will eventually turn into weight loss. Then the situation can be worsened by incorrect metabolism of the carbohydrate, proteins and fat in the body.
Due to poor appetite, the situation can aggravate into Anemia with hepatocytes too under the scanner. With vomiting, diarrhea and nausea around the corner, the body can become too weak. At times blood too comes out in your vomits if by chance there is any gastric ulcer in your body. The growth of ulcers can be fuelled by the complex level of interactions between nitrogen, histamine, bile acids, portal hypertension, gastrin and the mucous membrane that lines the stomach.
Light Coloration of Stool
If the secretion of bile pigments is blocked due to the some obstruction like low bile secretion or due to bile duct blockage, the stool of the patient shows the first signs as it becomes pale and lighter in color. Irregular as well as irritable bowel movements are also accompanied with the onset of a disease of liver or gall bladder. The stool is naturally of dark color because of the bile. The light color of the stool is an indication of low bile production or there is some blockage in the bile duct. The bile duct can be blocked due to scarring, stones or inflammation of the membrane. Even gray stool and the pale stool are classified as light colored stool.
Bloating & Distention
The abdominal part beneath the lower ribs on the right side may become distended because of the hepatomegaly or ascites. However, if the distention turns very severe then the breathing of the person might become more painful as there is pressure on the diaphragm.
Polydypsia & Polyuria
The terms polydypsia and polyuria mean excessive thirst and excessive and frequent urination, respectively. Although, these are common symptoms of many diseases but liver diseases too show these symptoms.

QUESTION:
Can i hear from women who've had Cholestasis/liver disease in pregnancy or know a lot about it?
Crap, i'm freaking myself out now reading up on this stuff on the internet. I wanted to hear from other women who actually had it or know tons about it. How bad is it, what symptoms you had, what ended up happening, etc? I'm 25 wks pregnant. Have itchy hands and feet, that get worse at night, I have a pain (for like a month now) right in the area of my liver on my front and back that they originally figured was just growing pains. I just had horrible episodes with gastric pain like never before that put me in the hospital. I am currently being treated for a UTI, and have had a couple more in the course of this pregnancy. And all of those things are listed as symptoms or related symptoms to this liver problem. I have a doc appt tomorrow and will ask for the blood test but wanted to hear from other women about it.-
ANSWER:
My friend had it and other than a few of the symptoms she did test positive. She had her baby a month early by induction because it was starting to threaten the baby's life. It can cause still birth and if you do have it, you have to be monitored very closely.

QUESTION:
Could something be seriously wrong with me even if I feel fine?
So here's my story.I thought I had an ovarian cyst in February - felt pressure in my vaginal area. Went to the doctor who felt around and said she thought my gall bladder is enlarged.
Off for an ultrasound I went. No cysts but my liver was mildly enlarged at 17.5cm. Had blood tests and everything was normal except my ERC level, which measures inflammation in the body was elevated to 22. It should be no higher than 20 for someone my age. My doctor said she can classify it as normal.
Now, for the past 2 months still I have not been feeling great, but I don't have any liver disease symptoms like yellowing, fatigue, itchiness, bloating etc.
My problems now are a mild ear ache, my lymph nodes in my neck feel mildly swollen, my liver feels mildly enlarged etc. I have no pain, I just feel that something is not right.
I have another doctors appointment, but that's not until May.
What do you think?? Think I could have something wrong with me?? The fullness / swelling I feel is on my right side near my ribs, towards my back.
I'm a thin, 24 year old woman who is active, doesn't drink or smoke, and I have no other health conditions.
-
ANSWER:
I would get in touch with the doctor office and talk to the
nurse there. Tell them your symptoms. The doctors leave
room, for a certain time period, to see patients who need
immediate care. If not, then you can request that any
cancelation they have, to notify you, so you can see them
sooner. Having swollen glands in the neck area and an
enlarged liver could mean you have a virus like
mononucleosis or it may be coming from an ear infection.
However, a real diagnosis has to be made on this.
You should have more blood testing done...no one blood test
is 100% accurate.Hope this information is of some help to you. Best wishes and
I hope you start to feel better.

QUESTION:
Pompe disease is an autosomal recessive disorder caused by the buildup of glycogen in certain tissues....?
....especially muscles. The defect is due to a mutation in the gene that codes for an enzyme, acid alpha-glucosidase that is normally found in lysosomes. The enzyme normally breaks down glycogen into glucose, but mutations in the gene prevent the enzyme from breaking down the glycogen so that it bulds up in muscle cells, eventually damaging cells throughout the body. Infants with the disorder typically exhibit symptoms such as muscle weakness, and enlarged liver and heart, and heart failure. Most infants with Pompe disease cannot hold up their heads or move normally. As the disease progresses swallowing may become difficult and the tongue may become abnormally enlarged. Most children do not survive beyond the age of 1. The disease affects about 1 in 40,000 people. A man who had a brother that died of Pompe disease marries a woman who is heterozygous for the disease. What is the probability that their children will have the disease??-
ANSWER:
The probability that their children will have the disease is dependent on knowing the genotype of the father. Since his brother died of the disease, we know that his brother was homozgyous recessive. Therefore, their parents must have both been carriers (note that we have to assume that neither of the parents had the disease because they would be unlikely to survive to reproductive age). Usually a cross between two carriers would give offspring in a 1:2:1 ratio of homozyous normal : heterozygous : homozygous recessive. However, since the man doesn't have the disease, we can eliminate the homozygous recessive in the probability equation and so this means that he is either homozygous normal (1/3 chance) or heterozygous carrier (2/3 chance). So the man has a 2/3 chance of being a carrier. If he is a carrier, then the probability that the man would pass on the recessive allele would be 1/2. So, the probability that he is a carrier AND that he would pass on the recessive allele is 2/3 x 1/2 = 2/6 = 1/3. Since his wife is a carrier, then she has a probability of passing on the recessive allele of 1/2. So, the probability that they would have an affected child is the product of both probabilities: 1/3 x 1/2 = 1/6.

QUESTION:
munchausens by proxy disease legal trouble?
what can i do?
my parents have munchausens by proxy disease. i am a young woman, i was in a bad accident and am actually disabled now. i cant walk well so im living with these parents for free rent, i cant work. and also to try to recuperate.
when i was younger they did things to me which would require attention from healthcare workers. i remember being very young and getting constant infections and my parents dragging me to hospitals all the time. it stopped eventually and i think its from their munchausens disease. i remember them doing things to me before we went to doctors.
anyways when i became a teen at 13 the munchausens disease moved on to psychiatric healthcare. they would bring me in the car to a psychiatric hospital and try to get them to hospitalize me for a mysterious psychiatric condition (unknown to me) my parents just told me ill get what i deserve and they kept quiet about why i was there. as an adult now i figured it out. they would tell different bizarre and alarming symptoms to each different hospital to get them to medicate me. sometimes my father looked up brochures of new medications and he would pick out the medication and ask the hospitals to give me that one because it sounded good to him. he would tell convincing imaginitive stories about me to the hospitals. each place the stories were changed around, facts were denied by them and changed.
anyhow by the time i turned 18 they had me in over 20 seperate hospitals or institutions and on 20 different medications, 3 at a time constaltly switching and trying new ones. with no result except medical illness being causedi suffered neurological damage and liver damage from all the unecessaRY PILLS.
anyhow after 18 it became hard for them to put me away. since i now had a voice of my own after 18 meaning the psychiatrists would have to speak to me also and ask me how i am.
everytime since 18 they tried to hospitalize me it didnt work out because they would evaluate me for a week and then send me home because they found my parents stories did not match what they observedanyhow my father used his history he built up against me and he went behind my back to a psychiatrist who never met me who wrote a letter about me saying im schitzophrenic. he used all that in court and gained adult guardianship over me, he got them to say that im mentaly incapacitated which is not true.
so now he can legally continue his munchausens by proxy, im afraid he will kill me. he had tried
i do have physical disabilities and mobility trouble so i cannot work or show much accomplishment to court. i did attend college before the accident.
what can i do to get myself out of this mess. if my father starts to make medical decisions for me , ill be drugged again. he already tried to get a doctor at an er to give me insulin shots because he told them i have diabetes when i dont have diabetes. luckily the dr belived me and tested me for diabetes first because he didnt know who to listen to. and it turns out i dont have the diabetes.
i came to the er another time and he found out i was there and told the dr not to let me leave because he told them i was suicidal, another lie and then he asked them to tranquilize me on some kind of drug im allergic to. he told the drs i was not allergic and i did end up having a bad reaction. he tells doctors im taking certain prescription medication that i am not and no doctor precribed me them. he tries to get them to drug mewhat can i do, i dont have an actual mental illness, i am not mentally incapacitated., but i am physically limited and disabled
how do i remove this guardianship esepcially with the confusing medical history of his munchausens by proxy and placing me in mulitple facilities as a minor with multiple stories and 20 different diagnoseses, depending on what story he decided to give
i am 26 now and should have nothing to do with himi dont have money for a lawyer since i cant work
if i go into a psycholigists office to try to get a letter to bring to court what do i tell them? it will sound crazy if i tell them yes ive been to 20 hospitals and i have 20 psychiatric diagnoseses and ive been on dozens of medications. to me that sounds like a crazy person
even a very sick psychotic person sometimes only ends up in the hospital 2 or 3 times and dosnt take more then 5 medications
but i have not taken one pill in 8 years, thank god and i do not show any symptoms of schitzophrenia or other mental illness. i never did,
so how is it believable then that 11 years ago i was diagnosed as psychotic and alot of other bizaree severe mental ilnesses if now 11 years later there is no sign of them, and i havent followed and specific treatment or any medication. thats not possible if it was true because severe mental ilness like that dosnt go away on its own.
meaning it never exhisted at allno one else i know thinks im crazy. my parents admitted they know im not crazy and they wont tell that to the court.
what can i do hes trying to put my health in danger and i dont have money for a lawyer. if i try to get away or go to the police he will send me to the hosp[ital with no place to go where he will monitor and force them to drug me again while i wait 10 months for a place to go.
the police wont send me to a womans shelter if he has all these papers saying im mentally ill, even tho it was to benefit his munchausens by proxy disease
i dont have a mental illness and never did. but he built up this whole thing. he is very controlling and dangerous
he tells people i have diabetes when i dont and constantly tries to get me drugged and drugged with stuff im allergic too
hes very convincing because hes a psychopath and is narcasistic
i was taking those pills but only 2-3 at a time over years but they kept switchingi can get a free lawyer but i need to convince people im telling the truth. i need to convince a psychologist and it is hard.
what can i say?
how do i explain? about how my father tricked an entire medical community and a judge-
ANSWER:
Wow... Keep trying to find a way out of this and find a way to cope with all thats happend.

QUESTION:
Question about my speech?
What do you think of my speech? Could you edit it or tell me where to add or take out things??Napoleon Bonaparte, Babe Ruth, Hitler, Idi Amin, Al Capone & King Henry VIII. I wonder how many of you could tell me what these people had in common. Today, I will be discussing the STD, Syphilis.
Syphilis is a bacterial disease that is highly infectious and can be passed through blood. A child in the womb can be exposed or if direct contact with syphilis sore is made, the disease can be contracted.
Syphilis sores occur mainly on the external genitals, but some cases have been reported on other areas of the body like in the mouth or on the back.
Syphilis progresses in three distinct stages. The Primary phase is the beginning of the disease. It starts with a sore, known as a shanker; these appear mainly on the genitals. But any part of the body is at risk.
Any contact with the sore can transmit the disease. The sore will grow bigger in 3-4 days and after 1 week it will disappear, but this does not mean that the disease is gone.
The secondary phase develops 4 to 10 weeks after the shanker appears. This is when the majority of symptoms begin to appear such as fever, joint pain, muscle aches, sore throat, rash, headache, decreased appetite, patchy hair loss and swollen lymph nodes.
People often mistake this for the flu because these are all flu symptoms. This phase can go away without treatment, but then the third phase will commence.
The third phase is known as the ‘latent phase’. In the early stages of this phase, first one to two years, the disease has some of the same symptoms as the second stage.
More than 2 years after the beginning of this phase there may be no symptoms and sores are normally no longer infectious. But pregnant woman can still pass them on to baby foetus through the womb.
The third phase is known as the ‘latent phase’. In the first one to two years of this phase, the disease has some of the same symptoms as the second stage. More than 2 years after the beginning of this phase there may be no symptoms and sores are normally no longer infectious.
But pregnant woman can still pass the disease to their foetus through the womb. This stage is a very dangerous one as it can appear that the infection has gone, but without treatment it will not. In severe cases this phase can cause, gradual blindness, numbness and even dementia.
There is one more rather uncommon phase known as the Tertiary Phase. This phase is rarely seen in modern times because of the aid of penicillin. But the unlucky people who develop this phase are faced with heart, skin, bone and brain problems.
Many of these symptoms I have listed sound like symptoms to other diseases, such as influenza, that is why syphilis can be referred to as ‘The Great Pretender’, as it mimics other diseases.
Another form of syphilis that isn’t mentioned a lot is ‘congenital syphilis’. This is the occurrence after a foetus has been infected in a womb.
The form of syphilis can cause many abnormalities in the child such abnormalities as, teeth, bone problems, liver/spleen/kidney enlargement, brain infection, skin rashes and more.
Syphilis is an equal opportunity disease! Anyone who has sex can contract it. Therefore the only way to completely avoid it is through avoiding sexual contact. The highest occurrence is found in women aged 20-24, and men aged 35-39.
Newborns with congenital syphilis increased from 2005 to 2006, with 339 new reported cases in 2005 compared to 349 cases reported in 2006. Doctors believe this is because people are NOT having safe sex and are NOT aware of all the risks taken by having irresponsible sexual activity.
Between 2005 and 2006, the number of reported syphilis cases increased by 11.8%. Rates have increased in males each year between 2000 and 2006 from 2.6 to 5.7. In 2006, 64% of the reported syphilis cases were with men who have sex with men. It is also reported that men are more vulnerable in contracting syphilis.
Syphilis is now treated by the use of penicillin, doctors do advise that while being treated you avoid all sexual contact. And every 6-12 months an annual check up is required.
Some interesting, yet alarming, facts I unfolded whilst studying syphilis are - The infamous Tuskegee experiments in the US were experiments in which black men with syphilis were intentionally denied treatment so that the effects of untreated syphilis could be studied.
None of them were deliberately infected, however; they were "merely" permitted to get sicker and were misled as to the true nature of their condition. Another is that for centuries the treatment of choice for syphilis was mercury, which was painted onto the sore. This had the unfortunate side effect of causing a slow death by mercury poisoning.
I hope that through my speech you have learnt more about the STD syphilis and know what to do if it comes your way.

QUESTION:
Clueless about Chorea?
Clueless about Chorea?Hey every one! Normally I wouldn't go abouts the web to propose a personal question, but at the moment I am at odds with my Chorrea. About seven months ago, I began noticing that my left pinky seemed distached from my hand, like hyperextended and when ever I would pull it in towards the rest of the my fingers it would shake uncontrollably. I ignored it for a while until it started happening to my ring finger (expect this time the finger didn't seem hyper extended, it simply shook). With in three months it progressed to all my fingers and eventually to my right hand and its fingers, at which point I went in to talk with my doctor. She ruled out lyme disease, and suggested it was stress related and prescribed anti-anxiety meds. And since I am not one for meds that mess with your brain I declined the suggestion and went about my way for the next three months. After this time, the shaking worsened and became almost embarrising to those who noticed it so when I went back to the doctor's for a strep test [unrelated] (a different doctor this time) I asked his opinion. I told him about my woman doctor who had suggested it was stress related and he disagreed; he seemed worried and referred me to a nuerologist. In the time lapse between this appointment and my first appointment with the nuerlogist (one month) things worsened quickly, moving to my toes, wrists, head jerking, knee jerking, lip quirvering and ankles. I was also expierencing migranes and drowsiness and moodyness, all of which i dismissed as PMS or something.
When I met with the nuerologist he preformed a bunch of tests, having to do with liver disease, lyme, and such. He also had me do an MRI.
Tests came back alright except for the MRI. In the MRI scan of the brain there were fuzzy white spots in the basal ganglia (movement controlling part of the brain). The nueroloists suggested this was the proof that I had involuntary movement and diagnosed me with chorea. However as he claimed, chorea is not a disease, it is a symptom. And he too is at odds with what is causing it. He referred me another nuerological specialtist (movement specialtist) but due to the whole long medical wait process it will be another two months before I see them. And knowing how rapid this chorea is progressing I'm worried that two months is too long. QUESTION:
What do you think this could be? Is it normal or should I be seen?
Since Friday afternoon, I have been having a killer headache. I have also been a little light-headed and nauseous. I know they are all signs of pregnancy. I am almost 16 weeks (Christmas Day). I had an appointment on Friday but these symptoms were not all that bad then. Should I just wait it out or what? I cannot take anything for my headaches because I have a liver disease that does not permit me to take Tylenol and a pregnant woman is not supposed to take Ibuprofen. So what am I supposed to do? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in Advance!

QUESTION:
Help with speech!!????????
Can you please edit my speech or help me put in more personal opinions and interesting facts?? THANK YOU! To make it more fun to listen to.Speech:
Napoleon Bonaparte, Babe Ruth, Hitler, Idi Amin, Al Capone & King Henry VIII. I wonder how many of you could tell me what these people had in common. It might surprise you that they all had, at some stage, syphilis. So, today, I will be discussing the perimeters of a specific STD, Syphilis. The disease was discovered in 1905 by Fritz Schauddin & Erich Hoffman.
Syphilis is a bacterial disease that is highly infectious and can be passed on through blood transferring, child in womb can be exposed or direct contact with the syphilis sore. Syphilis sores occur mainly on the external genitals, but some cases have been reported otherwise.
Syphilis progresses in three distinct stages and one not so common anymore. Primary phase; this is the beginning of the disease. It starts with a sore, known as a shanker; these appear mainly on the genitals. But any part of the body is at risk. Any contact with the sore can transmit the disease. The sore will grow bigger in 3-4 days, after 1 week it will disappear, but the disease will not.
The secondary phase includes many more symptoms. It may build up 4-10 weeks after the shanker appears. The common symptoms are: fevers, joint pains, muscle aches, sore throats, flu-like symptoms, rashes, headaches, decreased appetites, patchy hair loss and swollen lymph nodes. This phase can go away without treatment, but the third phase will commence.
The one, not so common, phase now is the ‘tertiary phase’. This isn’t seen much anymore because of the aid of penicillin. But for the unlucky people who contract this phase they are normally faced with heart, skin, bone and brain problems.
Many of these symptoms I have listed sound like symptoms to other diseases, that is why syphilis can be referred to as ‘The Great Pretender’, because it mimics other diseases.Another form of syphilis that isn’t mentioned a lot is ‘congenital syphilis’. This is the occurrence after a foetus has been infected in a womb. The form of syphilis can cause many abnormalities in the child such abnormalities as, teeth, bone problems, liver/spleen/kidney enlargement, brain infection, skin rashes and more.
Syphilis can be exposed to anyone who has sex, but the highest occurrence is found in women aged 20-24, and men aged 35-39. Newborns with congenital syphilis increased from 2005 to 2006, with 339 new reported cases in 2005 compared to 349 cases reported in 2006.

ANSWER:
I'm not researching for you but here are some corrections so the piece will flow more smoothly. Also, there are some notes on where you need more research to complete the piece. Hope this helps -TITLE: The Great Pretender
Napoleon Bonaparte, Babe Ruth, Hitler, Idi Amin, Al Capone & King Henry VIII. Can you tell me what these people had in common? Syphilis. Today, I will be discussing the STD, Syphilis. All of you have heard of it but do you really know anything about it?
The disease was discovered in 1905 by Fritz Schauddin & Erich Hoffman. (How? Why? What kind of research was being performed that led to this discovery?) Syphilis is a bacterial disease that is highly infectious and can be passed through blood. A child in the womb can be exposed or if direct contact with a syphilis sore is made, the disease can be contracted. Syphilis sores occur mainly on the external genitals, but some cases have been reported on other areas of the body. (WHERE ON THE BODY? BE SPECIFIC.)
In the first one to two years of this phase, the disease has some of the same symptoms as the second stage. More than 2 years after the beginning of this phase there may be no symptoms and sores are normally no longer infectious. But pregnant woman can still pass the disease to their fetus through the womb. (This paragraph needs more detail and makes little sense. Are people outwardly ill during this phase? Are they contagious? If so, how? Through sexual contact? Blood contact? Contact of mucous membranes? This area needs more research).
There is one more rather uncommon phase known as the Tertiary Phase. This phase is rarely seen in modern times because of the aid of penicillin. But the unlucky people who develop this phase are faced with heart, skin, bone and brain problems. (Like what? Cancers? Heart disease? Does their skin fall off? Does their brain die?? What happens to them?)
Many of these symptoms I have listed sound like symptoms to other diseases, that is why syphilis has been referred to as ‘The Great Pretender’, because it mimics other diseases.Another form of syphilis that isn’t mentioned often is ‘congenital syphilis’. This is Syphilis that occurs when a fetus has been infected in the womb. This form of syphilis can cause many birth abnormalities in the child such as, teeth, bone problems, liver/spleen/kidney enlargement, brain infection and skin rashes.
(Are there any reasons why doctors think this is happening? Do YOU have any idea’s on this?)
**You need a closing statement. Your speech needs to have a point – did you simply want your peers to know about the disease? Do you want them to avoid it? Are you concerned that the number of cases in infants has increased? Do you think more research needs to be done on it? There needs to be a logical end to this – a statement that closes the discussion**

QUESTION:
Pregnant with itchy hands and feet?
Hi. I have asked this question a few times but I haven't got many answers.
I am 19 weeks pregnant and I have itchy hands and feet which comes and goes. I had a blood test for a liver problem that only happens in pregnancy and the main symptom is itchy hands and feet. The blood test came back normal.
I contacted a lady from a support group and she told me that I might need more blood tests because sometimes the itching can start weeks before the results show up as abnormal. My midwife is refusing to do this and I am feeling really low. I'm so worried that something is going to happen to my baby and it's stopping me from enjoying the pregnancy.
My hands and feet tend to itch more when I get hot and there is no rash.
I feel like I am different from most pregnant woman as no other woman I have spoken to that has gone through pregnancy has had itchy hands and feet.
I feel really alone and don't really want to talk about the pregnancy with anyone. My bump has just started to show and people are commenting on it, which isn't good because I am worried that I have this liver disease and this pregnancy isn't going to be a happy one.
Has anyone else had itchy hands and feet and what do you suggest I do?-
ANSWER:
Well, I can't say 100% for your situation, but it definitely is a common symptom in pregnancy. I have had it with all of mine and I am on my 4th pregnancy. Itching can be caused from the increased hormone levels like progesterone. I really wouldn't worry yourself sick about this and just enjoy your pregnancy. Sorry that you have this, because it can be annoying;o)

QUESTION:
Does anyone else see the danger in some of the nitwit "best answers" to medical questions?
One poor woman was suffering from BURNING FEET SYNDROME. This can be a symptom of a serious medical problem. I suggest you leave these questions alone unless you are familiar with all the illnesses that can cause this ie. Diabetes, heart disease, liver disease, kidney problems, etc. . Someone like me will eventually get to the question and give a medical answer. Maybe I just got in to this site and did not realize that it was ALL ABOUT FUN and fatulance questions. I tryed to add a comment to the totally inadequate "voted best answer" but not allowed enough words to give this young woman a good solid comprehensive answer. Dr. Jame Ronning-
ANSWER:
When you joined Yahoo!Answers, you agreed to the User Agreement (did you take time to read it?). Actually, part of what it says is that the comments posted on this website should NEVER be used as a substitute for a doctor's medical advice and you should ALWAYS seek the advice of qualified medical professionals. Now, that's more for Yahoo!'s protection, but it's also setting the standard that this is a forum to discuss, not a place to receive an official diagnosis. But what I've found after participating on this site for several years is that many people who ask medical questions on this site can't afford a doctor or their copays or coinsurance is too high for them to go to the doctor for something that might be mundane.
It's much like the justice system. For the very very large percentage of cases, the bad guys go to jail, and the innocent ones go free. But sometimes, the bad guys go free and the innocent ones go to jail. It's not perfect.
Y!A is much the same. For the large part, the people who comment are medical professionals themselves, or have a very intimate knowledge of the condition being spoken of (take myself for instance; I am not a doctor, but I know as much about Multiple Sclerosis as some doctors I know because I have it and have done research on it for years now). So for the most part, questions are answered accurately, and people get good advice. But sometimes, bad advice slips through (like people advocating pills or diet regimens to "cure" Multiple Sclerosis). Someone could follow that advice instead of seeking professional medical advice and their conditions could get worse.
Hopefully, if people can get true medical attention, they would, rather than resorting to the Internet.

QUESTION:
Can allergens cause severe itching of palms and feet after bathing?
For the past two nights, I have played with a new puppy we have, then came straight in and took a hot bath. During the hot bath, severe itching of my palms occurred, and then started on the soles of my feet. THe itching was so severe, that I took a hairbrush to my palms, and it still didnt ease. I looked these symptoms up, and a terrible disease of the liver came up called PBC, it states that extrteme itching of the palms and feet are common symptoms of this. But I am a very allergic person, and have always had bad allergies to pets. My skin even sometimes used to break out in whelts after contact with pets. So I am wandering if the contact with the animal, and then getting into the hot bath water, couldn't causes my reaction? I hope so, and that it's not a disease. I had no bumps on my hands or feet, just red, itchy and it kind of looked like little red blotchy places under the skin of the palms. Somebody please tell me it's nothing serious. You may have a pet allergy; so you have to be careful there. To reduce your symptoms, you may need to consider giving it away. It sounds inhumane but there is little that you can do about allergy. Going on medications just so to relieve your symptoms can hardly be a long time solution as you are risking your health.

QUESTION:
Mysterious Instant Stomach Troubles
Going to be as brief as possible: 21, male, healthy. Large build 230, 6'2. Drank wine a bit consistently for 5-6 months, no problems. Drank other hard liquor in the past, no problems. Tried Gin on June 6th, half a bottle (Seagram's Extra Dry mixed with lemon juice and ginger ale..I don't usually mix, was doing so for fun). Immediately noticed I had to keep taking deep breaths/out of breath sensation, stopped. Not sure if the Japanese food (sushi etc.) could've had an impact. Drank Jack Daniels and rot gut vodka before, so it was not a matter of tolerance or alcohol exposure.Next day woke up to a feeling below the throat, felt like a constant need to cough. Went to the doctor...EKG, Chest X-Ray, Barium Swallow, Spirometer/Flow Meter (lung test), Gallbladder Liver scan, all negative. Endoscopy showed a very very small 3-4 cm sliding hiatal hernia, deemed asymptomatic (does not produce symptoms) as it was so small it didn't even show on the Barium Swallow X-ray. Endoscopy showed no irritation, irregularities or inflammation. Allergy tests showed nothing, Clarinex did nothing.
Symptoms are: Constant cough/irritation between collar bones, murky/powdery stools (as if you were to flush powder from the bottom of the toilet bowl and it billows up), sinus congestion, excessive burping, extreme fatigue, minor heart palpitations, yellow/white coated tongue, hurts to take a deep breath. Spaced out/tired after eating, worse than the "after turkey meal feeling". Excessive salivation/sweet tasting salivation. Hear an intermittent sound like gas escaping through my esophagus to my neck when I lie down. No heartburn whatsoever. Odd sour taste at back of mouth.
No history of any problems, no history of hypochondria, not psychological (Ativan and other sedatives did nothing). Antibiotics did nothing.
A homeopath suggested Nux Vomica, did nothing but calm me mentally.
Acid reflux/GERD was suggested, took Prilosec, Zantac, Pepcid AC, no effect. Moved to PPI's (strongest stuff they got), Protonix/Aciphex/Zegerid, did nothing.
It has been 2 months, the symptoms persist despite diet changes. Suggestions regarding a decrease in weight were made. Factors of environment include mold under my water bed that has grown over the years due to frequent popping of the tubes. A plan to replace the bed is underway. It has been suggested that the mold is causing this, or perhaps a Candida Albicans yeast overgrowth, however, the reaction to the Gin was sudden, instant, and very acute. I felt no symptoms whatsoever prior to consumption.
5 doctors, a gastroenterologist, a pulmonary specialist, 10 health coach's/nurses from the insurance company, a renowned medical researcher, and a famous health expert who exposed a pharmaceutical scam had no clue whatsoever, and were completely baffled.
I have gotten some guidance from a Chinese medicine woman/acupuncturist and am undergoing treatment through TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine).
Nevertheless, I am asking for your opinions. Do not tell me I have "GERD" or "acid reflux disease", those ailments are not diseases, and my symptoms/tests defy such a diagnosis. I am more knowledgeable about Acid Reflux/GERD than most doctors at this point, and I know I don't have it. I know every test used to detect it, and every "health tip" recommended for it, so don't waste my time or yours by spamming it.
I am looking for alternative causes.
Thank you
Looking for more answers-
ANSWER:
I am in no way a medical professional, but I have to respond because I have twice in my life had conditions that could not be diagnosed. Both eventually were, but what a horror show until then.My first thought on reading as far as your instant reaction to the gin potion was allergy. Short of a pre-existing condition, I can't think of anything, other than a poison, that could act that fast.
As I read further, I was going to mention mold but then you did. Mold is insidious. Mold can cause hundreds of nasty symptoms. That you had been sleeping on it for god knows how long means that you were breathing it in all that time even though you didn't know it was there. I don't know if there is a medical specialty in mycology but it might be a place to start.
Also, consider that what's going on may have been caused by more than one condition or more than one allergen or mold or ... If the gin event was an allergy, maybe it triggered nasty mold spores that had been hidden in your larynx.. I mean, I'm just throwing out ideas here, but it could be two or three different maladies.
In any case, don't give up. There is a doctor who knows what it is and has at least an idea how to cure it.
Good luck.

QUESTION:
critique my essay on anorexia?
The first occurrence of the eating disorder anorexia nervosa or anorexia as it is commonly called was first seen in 1694; however it wasn’t actually recognized as a real disease until about the 1870’s where at this juncture people would actually become diagnosed. Dunglison's medical dictionary defined the disease as a “lose of appetite” in 1865. In 1868 an English physician William Gall was the first to lay claim to the name anorexia and it was his idea that a persons family directly contributed to someone’s eating disorder. Dr Gull claimed the cause of the disease was undetermined and that most women developed anorexia at any age from sixteen to twenty three. In years past most people associated starvation with theological practices or folklore but Gull’s text “Anorexia Hysterica” created more fascination with the psychological aspects of the disease.Anorexia is commonly referred to as an eating disorder but in actuality it is also a psychological disorder. Those who have the disease usually start out by dieting but this lose of weight becomes a virtual obsession. The anticipated weight loss gives the person in general, a feeling of mastery or control over their body. On a psychological level those with the disease value the feeling of control over physical weight loss. Anorexia mainly derives from a self imagine problem. Although one may associate lack of eating with anorexia, those with the disease will also exercise fervently, take some sort of diet pills or weight loss enhancers, and receive numerous enemas to try to flush out excess water in order to loss weight. Anorexia usually starts to become evident during adolescents but, younger children and adults also may develop the disease. More often than not Caucasians tend to become anorexic more so than other races and lower class families are less likely to become anorexic. Anorexia affects almost every organ in the body detrimentally as a person starves themselves. As a result of not eating a person’s heart rate and blood pressure tend to decrease significantly, which may ultimately lead to hypertension. In addition starvation and anorexia also affects the liver. As a person beings to starve more and more enzyme levels in the liver start to change negatively, in some cases even resulting in liver failure. Those who are anorexic generally have lower red and white blood cells causing not only anemia but a weakened immune system. Not only does anorexia cause internal complications, but it also causes noticeable physical signs like flaky skin, breakdown of nails, and tooth loss. Some physiological and behavior symptoms of anorexia include depression, irritability, and attention deficits. A majority of individuals with anorexia tend to develop extreme fixation with food and eating. They may hide food within their pockets, eating inordinately slow, and even eat minuscule portions of food at a dawdling rate.
At this current juncture there is no unambiguous cause for anorexia but as time progresses psychologists are beginning to develop more ground breaking theories. One suggested theory is genetics. Currently psychologists believe that person’s genetics will be a determinant of an individual’s propensity of developing eating disorders. Some believe that a certain chromosome 1p may hold the clue in determining if a person will have anorexia. Others within the scientific field contribute poor feeding habits as well as under eating as signs of a potential case of anorexia. In addition people who strive to be thin and attractive as well perfectionist usually are more likely to be anorexic. Popular culture and the media may also be the case. The young girls developing mind is easily deceieved and many adolescent girls tend to emulate what they see on television. It is no question that most movie stars, singers, and celebrities are abnormally thin. Young girls look up to these women as role models and to seek to be like them. This may lead to a self image problem and a desire to lose weight in order to look similar to those on TV.
One noteworthy study on anorexia nervosa is being done by Neuroendocrine Clinical Center. They are attempting to prove the correlation between anorexia and osteoporosis. They concluded that almost half of woman with anorexia usually experience some form of osteoporosis. They also determined that some of them had bones similar to that of elderly women. Due to lack of calcium, under nutrition and over production of glucocorticoids (stress hormones), are reasons behind bone loss and are all contributed to anorexia. One experiment in particular is giving young girls and women with anorexia low doses of the female hormone estrogen to see if that will slow down the breakdown of bones. Another notable experiment done by the Neuroendocrine Clinical Center that includes males and females, attempts to discover the causes and signs of bone loss in people with anorexia. The physicians will tes

ANSWER:
Wow, lots of great information there! The only thing that really strikes me is that your essay focuses on the anorexic's need for control (which is correct), but you only touch on the control aspect with regards to weight issues.
An anorexic's need for control can also extend FAR beyond anything to do with weight. In my case, it was a way to control (or numb out) painful emotions. There's a strong correlation between anorexia/eating disorders and sexual or physical abuse. By starving yourself, you can actually become numb and devoid of emotion.... and therefore you don't have to feel the pain.
All in all, your points are very good. Hope they mark you well on this
Take care!

QUESTION:
Blake's project for file block?
Their next study took 9 years. They started by interviewing over 3000 men aged 35-50. By observing their manners of speaking and other behavioral patterns, they were able to separate them into two groups: Type A & Type B.Type A-The most reactive, aggressive, competitive, hard-driving, easily angered, time conscious, and insecure about their status in life.
Type B- Patient, relaxed, and easy-going, in contrast with type A.
At the end of the 9 year study, 257 men had suffered heart attacks: 69% of them being type A personality. Interestingly, not one of the “pure” type B –the most mellow and laid back- had heart attacks.
Our heart and minds interact. For instance, type A’s aggression and negative emotion forms in them a toxic core. By being “combat ready” their blood flow is directed to their muscles and away from the filtering organs like the liver, thus allowing the excess cholesterol and fat -that would normally have been removed- to seep into their heart. With the excess cholesterol blocking the way, it’s only a matter of time before some future stress triggers a heart attack.
More than just drive can kill you. Pessimism can be toxic. In a 1991-2001 study of 1306 initially healthy men, Dr. Laura Kubransky found that 17% of pessimists had developed heart disease, more than double the only 7% of optimists who had.
Depression is lethal. In a study of 7406 women 67 and older, 24% of women with 6 or more depression symptoms died within 6 years, compared to the only 7% without depression.
Overall, the important thing to remember is that the heart follows the mind; if your mind is healthy, your heart will follow suite! (Unless your obese or are a smoker)

QUESTION:
Can someone please read my assignment about ARDS please?
Hey i need someone to read my paper and correct any grammar mistakes,
and if there's anything missing about the disease in general please don't hesitate to mention them.An Acute respiratory disease syndrome (ARDS) is a life threatening illness that damages the lungs over time. The disease has a mortality rate of 65% and it's more common for men than women to catch ARDS . Pediatrics and infants can be receive with ARDS too. The problem of the disease is caused by the crumpling and the accumulation of fluid in the alveoli sacs. This affect the lungs to deliver poor concentration of oxygen into the blood, which leads to hypoxia. Essentially, ARDS starts to take affect from 24 to 48 hours from the start of incident. As the disease continues to worsen, the lungs will become stiff, heavy and unable to expand properly resulting to pulmonary edema. Eventually, other vital organs will start to malfunction such as the heart, the kidneys and the liver due to the lack of oxygen in the blood. The most common reasons that people get ARDS is caused by any major inflammation or injury to the lungs like aspiration, sepsis, pneumothorax, trauma, massive transfusion of blood products, and drug overdose. Also, Heavy smoking and heavy drinking are other risk factors. Symptoms may include severe difficulty breathing, anxiety, low level blood pressure, agitation, fever and multiple organ failure. Signs of ARDS includes presents of crackle sounds in the lungs, cyanosis, and diaphoresis]. The disease can takes months to cure depending on its severity, however the longer ARDS is delayed for treatment, the more closer it becomes inevitable to cure. Complications. The disease is treated through intensive care unit (ICU) and requires mechanical ventilation support. Patients are given antibiotics, IV fluid, and oxygen for hospital treatment.
Essentially on scene, a patient with ARDS will be or might be in respiratory distress. Again, signs may includes, cyanosis, dysnea, diaphoretic, wheezing, and excess muscle usage. Symptoms may include rapid breathing, SOB and organ failure. Paramedics should quickly give 100% oxygen by using a mask, a nasal canula or a combitube, then positioning the patient into a comfortable respiratory position. If possible, medication such as salbutamol can be given to treat ARDS to open the pt's airway, only applicable if the patient fits in the inclusion criteria and has no exclusion concerns. In some cases, patient with severe ARDS will be in grave pain if they move too much. Paramedic may want to check the lungs and any complications that may be present and treat it if they can. These complications may includes multiple organ failure, pneumothorax, and pulmonary fibrosis. A physical examination is necessary to rule out any other problems. Other useful practice are monitoring the patient heart, O2 saturation, and taking vital signs. Patient with ARDS needs hospital care ASAP. Overall when paramedics are dealing with an ARDS call, they must provide breathing support, try to figure out the cause of ARDS and get the patient to the hospital.-
ANSWER:
ARDS is a commonly misused term and has specific criteria by definition including the PaO2/FIO2 ratio is less than 200 and bilateral infiltrates on a CXR. Paramedics in the field will not know this nor will they have the appropriate diagnostic equipment. Not that many patients have "ARDS" although they have many of the other signs and symptoms. Some Paramedics will say the patient is in "ARDS" but the patient may just need a couple of nebulizer treatments and corticosteriods with a scrpt and they are back home later that day. Not all respiratory distress patients will be in ARDS. some may just have bilateral pneumonia which might meet a sepsis protocol but may not require intubation.

QUESTION:
Do you think that Black Seed Oil can be used as a treatment for HIV/AIDS?
I AM SORRY THAT THIS IS LONG, BUT PLEASE READI am currently doing research about Black Seeds. It is also known as Black Coriander or Black Caraway seeds. It is know that Black Seeds can cure/treat many medical ailments.
Well in my Biology class, we were learning about adaptation, and an example is the AIDS virus. When ever this one perosn took the medication, it seemed that somehow the virus would adapt to it. Well since I have heard of Black Seed, and I have done some research, I was wondering if it can treat HIV/AIDS. I know that it may not completley cure it, or that you need to take this for a while to see results, i was just wondering about the possibilities.
Based on this info, what do you think? Any comments will be accepted. It would help me if you cite your information (if you can).
-Black seed unquestionably has a positive and stabilizing effect on the human immune system which . Moreover, since diseases are the result of defective immune systems, it is fair to assume that the beneficial effects go beyond skin disorders and allergies. Since the immune system has a direct or indirect effect on all the systems of the body, when you are infected by any disease, the power of the immunity system affects the cure of this disease.
-Black seed is a safe and effective herb that can be used by almost anyone. No irritations or side effects are caused when the right dose is correctly applied. Its benefits are obtained through consistent use,the effects are medium to long term. Diabetes is useful in the treatment of diabetes mellitus or diabetes caused by an allergy. However it is recommended that the treatment be supervises because Black seed does lower blood sugar levels. Black seed should not be taken by pregnant women if their wombs are sensitive
-Mahfouz and El-Dakhakhny, prominent Egyptian researchers isolated the active principle nigellone from Black Seed's essential oil in 1959. There are over 100 different chemical components in the seed.
Nigella and melatin are two ingredients in Black Seed that contribute greatly to its highly diversified powers. These substances work together to provide the digestive benefits that have been revered in Black Seed. They also promote cleansing and assist with overall eliminating action.
Two of the most volatile oils found in Black seed are nigellone and thymoquinone which were fist discovered in the herb in 1985. Nigellone offers both anti-spasmodic and bronchodilating properties which contribute to Black Seed's potency against respiratory ailments. It also acts as an antihistamine which helps to reduce the negative symptoms of allergy sufferers. Thymoquinone contains excellent anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties. It is also a strong anti-oxidant and helps cleanse the body of toxins. Both nigellone and thymoquinone work in conjunction with one another to enhance Black Seed's action against respiratory ailments. It also provides a healthy alternative to the more commonly prescribed cortisone based therapies used by allergy sufferers.
Black seed provides a rich supply of polyunsaturated fatty acids. These ingredients play a key role in daily health and wellness. They help to regulate the metabolism, carry toxins to the skin's surface for elimination, balance insulin levels, regulate cholesterol, improve body circulation, and promote healthy liver function. A deficiency in polyunsaturated fatty acids can lead to a wide number of health problems including nervous system disorders, uninhibited growths, and skin diseases.
Black seed contains over 100 valuable nutrients. It is comprised of approximately 21% protein, 38% carbohydrates, and 35% plant fats and oils. The active ingredients of black seed are nigellone, thymoquinone, and fixed oils. Black seed also contains significant proportions of protein, carbohydrates and essential fatty acids. Other ingredients include linoleic acid, oleic acid, calcium, potassium, iron, zinc, magnesium, selenium, vitamin A, vitamin B, vitamin B2, niacin, and vitamin C.
A 1994 study conducted in London by King's College revealed that Black Seed has properties that inhibit certain enzymes, which also inhibit the production of certain prostaglandins. This is more proof that the rich and complex combination of elements found in Black Seed work together for a total effect.
Black Seed has over 1400 years history of use. Many ancient books and text suggest the following traditional uses for Black Seed. But please note, that these should not be understood as cures or treatments for any disease or illness.
Now this is only some of the research that I have done. I have not actually done some testing or anything, I am just in High School. Right now, I am in the stage of gathering information.-
ANSWER:
What's the active ingredient?
Can it be synthesized or purified on a large scale?
What's the target?
What's the mechanism of action?
What's the effectiveness compared to current treatments? These are the questions that must be answered before it can be used to treat anything.
There's a reason medicine doesn't just use things like this. Until you know what molecule is doing what you don't know about any possible cross-reactions, toxicity issues, and most importantly you can't quantify everything since the amount of active ingredient isn't controlled.

QUESTION:
Writing a paper about alcoholism? Help with topic ideas?
I have an eight page paper about alcoholism due this Friday. I'm brainstorming what I want to write about and trying to come up with questions I can answer within my paper, relating to the disease, of course. So far, I've thought of:
Basic statistics (How many people are affected by alcoholism in the US? How many are men/women? What's the economic/social level of those affected? Age range? Race?...)
Risk Factors
Possible causes (I'll only touch briefly on this, since no one really knows whether it's inherited or not. I will present both sides.)
Symptoms
Diagnosis (Using the AUDIT/CAGE testing system, etc...)
Treatment (How many treated actually stay sober, as opposed to going back to the bottle? What are the treatment options?)
Other health issues that stem from being an alcoholic (Liver failure, cancer, depression, bi-polar disorder, etc...)
What could be done better/more to inform the public about alcoholismWhat else would you like to know about alcoholism, if you were reading my paper? Do you have any other topic ideas I could touch on? Thanks!

QUESTION:
legal advice about victim of munchausens by proxy?
what can i do?
my parents have munchausens by proxy disease. i am a young woman, i was in a bad accident and am actually disabled now. i cant walk well so im living with these parents for free rent, i cant work. and also to try to recuperate.
when i was younger they did things to me which would require attention from healthcare workers. i remember being very young and getting constant infections and my parents dragging me to hospitals all the time. it stopped eventually and i think its from their munchausens disease. i remember them doing things to me before we went to doctors.
anyways when i became a teen at 13 the munchausens disease moved on to psychiatric healthcare. they would bring me in the car to a psychiatric hospital and try to get them to hospitalize me for a mysterious psychiatric condition (unknown to me) my parents just told me ill get what i deserve and they kept quiet about why i was there. as an adult now i figured it out. they would tell different bizarre and alarming symptoms to each different hospital to get them to medicate me. sometimes my father looked up brochures of new medications and he would pick out the medication and ask the hospitals to give me that one because it sounded good to him. he would tell convincing imaginitive stories about me to the hospitals. each place the stories were changed around, facts were denied by them and changed.
anyhow by the time i turned 18 they had me in over 20 seperate hospitals or institutions and on 20 different medications, 3 at a time constaltly switching and trying new ones. with no result except medical illness being causedi suffered neurological damage and liver damage from all the unecessaRY PILLS.
anyhow after 18 it became hard for them to put me away. since i now had a voice of my own after 18 meaning the psychiatrists would have to speak to me also and ask me how i am.
everytime since 18 they tried to hospitalize me it didnt work out because they would evaluate me for a week and then send me home because they found my parents stories did not match what they observedanyhow my father used his history he built up against me and he went behind my back to a psychiatrist who never met me who wrote a letter about me saying im schitzophrenic. he used all that in court and gained adult guardianship over me, he got them to say that im mentaly incapacitated which is not true.
so now he can legally continue his munchausens by proxy, im afraid he will kill me. he had tried
i do have physical disabilities and mobility trouble so i cannot work or show much accomplishment to court. i did attend college before the accident.
what can i do to get myself out of this mess. if my father starts to make medical decisions for me , ill be drugged again. he already tried to get a doctor at an er to give me insulin shots because he told them i have diabetes when i dont have diabetes. luckily the dr belived me and tested me for diabetes first because he didnt know who to listen to. and it turns out i dont have the diabetes.
i came to the er another time and he found out i was there and told the dr not to let me leave because he told them i was suicidal, another lie and then he asked them to tranquilize me on some kind of drug im allergic to. he told the drs i was not allergic and i did end up having a bad reaction. he tells doctors im taking certain prescription medication that i am not and no doctor precribed me them. he tries to get them to drug mewhat can i do, i dont have an actual mental illness, i am not mentally incapacitated., but i am physically limited and disabled
how do i remove this guardianship esepcially with the confusing medical history of his munchausens by proxy and placing me in mulitple facilities as a minor with multiple stories and 20 different diagnoseses, depending on what story he decided to give
i am 26 now and should have nothing to do with himi dont have money for a lawyer since i cant work
if i go into a psycholigists office to try to get a letter to bring to court what do i tell them? it will sound crazy if i tell them yes ive been to 20 hospitals and i have 20 psychiatric diagnoseses and ive been on dozens of medications. to me that sounds like a crazy person
even a very sick psychotic person sometimes only ends up in the hospital 2 or 3 times and dosnt take more then 5 medications
but i have not taken one pill in 8 years, thank god and i do not show any symptoms of schitzophrenia or other mental illness. i never did,
so how is it believable then that 11 years ago i was diagnosed as psychotic and alot of other bizaree severe mental ilnesses if now 11 years later there is no sign of them, and i havent followed and specific treatment or any medication. thats not possible if it was true because severe mental ilness like that dosnt go away on its own.
meaning it never exhisted at allno one else i know thinks im crazy. my parents admitted they know im not crazy and they wont tell that to the court.
what can i do legally about his munchausens by proxy to remove the adult guardianshipi am physically disabled and not mentally disabled.
he is very convincing and hes a psychopath and narcassist so hes very convincing and is trained at getting people to hear what he wants them to and to believe him even when his stories are bizarre and close to unbelievable
i dont have money for a lawyer but how do i get anyone to believe me because i dont present any symptoms of a mental disability or mental ilness and i never did. i dont have a mental illness-

QUESTION:
i got this from my sister she sent it to me by email and i wanted everyone to read this so please do so?
From Carlton in Pennsylvania--------------AllanLeptospirosis -- VERY IMPORTANT PLEASE READ
This incident happened recently in North Texas. A woman went boating one Sunday taking with her some cans of coke which she put into the refrigerator of the boat. On Monday she was taken to the hospital and placed in the Intensive Care Unit. She died on Wednesday.
The autopsy concluded she died of Leptospirosis. This was traced to the
can of coke she drank from, not using a glass. Tests showed that the can was infected by dried rat urine and hence the disease Leptospirosis.Rat urine contains toxic and deathly substances. It is highly recommended thoroughly wash the upper part of soda cans before drinking out of them.
The cans are typically stocked in warehouses and transported straight to
the shops without being cleaned.A study at NYCU showed that the tops of soda cans are more
Contaminated than public toilets (i.e).. full of germs and bacteria. So wash them with water before putting them to the mouth to avoid any kind of fatal accident.
Please forward this message to all the people you care about.
(I JUST DID)
Leptospirosis is an infectious disease that affects humans and animals. It results in a wide range of symptoms, and some people may have no symptoms at all. It is caused by a spiral-shaped bacterium (spirochete). Symptoms include high fever, chills, muscle aches, headache, vomiting, diarrhea, and jaundice (! yellow skin and eyes).
A definitive diagnosis requires laboratory testing of a blood or urine sample. Early detection is important because the disease can cause serious complications if not treated early in its course. These include kidney damage (nephrosis), meningitis (inflammation of the tissue around the brain or spinal cord), resp iratory distress and/or liver failure.
-
ANSWER:
I want you to read this:
Leptospirosis, better known as Weil's disease, is a potentially deadly illness caused by bacteria passed along to humans in contact with urine from diseased animals (rats, frogs, rabbits, snakes, pigs and dogs). It is picked up rurally from swimming in contaminated lakes and reservoirs. In cities, the bacteria are passed along more easily — people splashing through puddles in areas that have a large rodent population might contract the disease, and eating or drinking contaminated food and water is always a danger. Leptospirosis can also be contracted by rubbing eyes with dirty hands. People with open cuts and wounds are especially vulnerable to the bacteria, as it can be picked up almost anywhere. As the rat population in cities grows, so does the potential for contact with this disease.
Leptospirosis typically causes aches, pains and fever that go away on their own. One in ten cases includes high fever, jaundice, meningitis (inflammation of the brain lining), acute kidney failure, internal bleeding and, occasionally, death. Victims can die if they develop serious kidney or liver complications. In extreme cases, death follows three to six days after infection. The disease is treatable with antibiotics.
In November 1998 leptospirosis killed eight people and hospitalized one hundred in China. In the same month in 1997, 22 people died from the same cause out of the 300 who were infected with it. In the United States, 100 to 200 cases of leptospirosis occur each year (with about half of those in Hawaii), according to the Center for Disease Control.
Another disease passed on through rat urine is hantavirus. It is transmitted to humans through breathing in particles of an infected rodent's urine, droppings or saliva. The virus becomes airborne when excrement dries. Early symptoms mimic the flu and can progress to respiratory failure. Since 1993, 21 deaths in the United States have been blamed on this disease.
In general, urine-encrusted soda cans are not the most likely purveyors of these diseases. Most cans of soda are packaged into cardboard boxes while still on the production line and thus aren't at any risk of contamination. Additionally, once bottlers have mixed soft drink syrup in with soda water and sweetener, they try to get the finished product to the consumer as expeditiously as possible. Soft drink bottlers don't warehouse large inventories of finished product for any length of time — freshness is everything, so the product is moved out quickly, leaving little opportunity for rodents to use the tops of cans as latrines. Nonetheless, it's still always a good idea to wipe off cans from exposed six-packs or those dispensed from drink machines, if for no other reason than to avoid picking up something passed on by the human handlers of the product.

QUESTION:
Why am I so exhausted?
I get plenty of sleep (about 8 hours a night). I drink a lot of water (about 3 bottles a day), and I eat a very healthy nutritionally balanced doctor prescribed diet (all organic, mostly made from scratch, no junk food or heavily processed food or caffeinated drinks). I take a woman's multivitamin, probiotic supplement, digestive enzymes, silica, apple cider vinegar shot and cod liver oil every day (as per the doctor). And I walk 2 miles every day. I don't drink alcohol and I don't take any medications at all (otc or prescriptions) so that's not what could be making me drowsy. By all means I should feel great, but instead I'm so tired I can barely get out of bed in the morning and feel like I'm half asleep all day. I will also have "episodes" during the day where everything starts sounding weird and the room begins "shifting" and my vision goes in and out until I cannot stay awake no matter how hard I try, and just fall over asleep. When I wake up after a few minutes, I feel totally fine. I'm baffled as to what is causing this, so is my doctor.I do have Crohn's disease, but neither my doctor nor I think it is the cause of my tiredness. I have had no symptoms of a flare up, and have felt really very good for the past 2 years since I adopted a specialized diet/exercise/sleep routine recommended by my doctor when medications weren't helping me (which I have not broken or slipped up on). This exhaustion thing only hit me a few months ago, but it's been getting progressively worse. They ran blood tests and urine tests, and I don't have anything that appears abnormal or too high/too low and I don't have any infections. I had a colonoscopy, MRI, and a abdominal and transvaginal ultrasound, and there is nothing that appears wrong or abnormal inside either. I'm really worried. My gastroenterologist is out of ideas for tests, and he doesn't really know who to refer me to since they can't find anything medically wrong and my only symptom is exhaustion and those weird episodes. He ruled out chronic fatigue syndrome because the episodes I'm having don't fit the bill, they're just a mystery. I am worried that whatever it is may set off my crohn's if I don't take care of it, and then I'd really have problems.
Have any of you had anything similar to this happen to you or have any ideas on what might be going on?
-
ANSWER:
Sounds like you should be investigated for narcolepsy or other sleep disorders, like sleep apnea, which could be affecting your sleep cycle so much that you're unable to stay awake. While narcolepsy is rare, its not so rare that it's not a possibility and should definately be investigated given your symptoms.http://www.ninds.nih.gov/disorders/narcolepsy/detail_narcolepsy.htm
Your doctor should refer you to a sleep lab ASAP, as all other options that seem obvious sound like they've been investigated (B12 defeciency, iron defeciency, hypothyroidism, etc.)

In June i noticed my throat swelling up, or inflammation. I couldn't swallow pills or eat because food would get caught in my throat.
This is now October. Within these four months I have been to an allergist im allergic to the world but the medicines they gave me do not work.i have had a ultrasound of my thyroid and i have nodules. I have had a needle biopsy aspiration. They were normal, but has features of Hashimoto's disease. Doctors did nothing. I have had a thyroid scan and uptake and the results are complicated long story short nothing big enough to give me anything. I am stressing out now. Sometimes my thyroid blood work will be normal, and when i stopped my birth control, they were abnormal. Now they are normal again. They think its hyperthyroid but they arent doing anything
I have seen a cardiologist for my heart problems , At first they wanted to chuck it up to stress but my white blood cells are high and my liver tests are a little off but no one is doing anything. Ive lost so much weight because i cant really eat. Doc has put me on propranolol for my heart but that makes my asthma act up. before they just put me on valium. I have been to the ER twice within the last month. I feel I am getting the run around can anyone help?
Recent findings. I seen an ENT. He thinks it is thyroiditis, but they dont know what kind yet. He wants me to get a Baruim x-ray done, im scared about that. I don't know why he wants me to get that done.

-swollen glands, swollen throat tightness
trouble speaking
-heart palpitations, heart racing
short of breath
emotional
cant eat wheat
-cloudy urine
-dizziness
-tiredness
-more i cant think of as the moment-
ANSWER:
Yes, all these symptoms of a thyroid imbalance. Allergies or more commonly food intolerance are symptoms of a thyroid imbalance which causes post nasal drip and excessive mucus. My mother had terrible 24/7 post nasal drip with hashimoto's. So, she cut out all dairy (which caused an immediate mucus reaction), went on a candida diet for 2 months (no sugars or white flour etc) and took an anti fungal - Pau D'Arco daily. After two months, the post nasal drip is 80% better! She can now have a bit of dairy with no reaction.Candida diet and Pau D'Arco>>>
http://www.thecandidadiet.com/paudarco.htmThere are various reasons for thyroiditis
>>>http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/thyroiditis/As you can see, hashimoto's thyroiditis (autoimmune hypothyroidism) is the most common of all the thyroiditis conditions. This autoimmune disease swings between hyper and hypo symptoms and the TSH levels can be up one minute down the next or come back "normal". The tests to confirm an autoimmune disease - anti TPO (thyroid peroxidase) and TgAb (thyroglobulin). TPO is elevated more so in hashimoto's thyroiditis 90% compared to 64% with Graves Disease (autoimmune hyperthyroidism).
There are 5 types of white blood cells. Eosinophils are higher due to allergies or parasites. Overall high white cell count can be from various conditions as listed
>>>http://www.buzzle.com/articles/high-white-blood-cell-count.htmlIf your thyroid antibodies do come back higher than normal, there are ways to lower them. Selenium (4 brazil nuts) = 200mcg a day has shown to lower TPO antibodies up to 40% in 3 months, gluten free diet "...researchers found that...organ-specific autoantibodies (i.e., thyroid antibodies) -- will disappear after 3 to 6 months of a gluten-free diet."

http://www.science20.com/natural_medicine_101_jeffrey_dach_md/blog/dr_dach_selenium_and_hashimotosCommonly seen deficiencies with a thyroid condition include vitamin B12 deficiency, iron, (both B12 and iron deficiencie cause palpitations), vitamin D and calcium (too low a calcium level can also cause palpitations), magnesium, potassium, low cortisol levels.
As for urine, the most common reason is excess phosphate. To test for this, take a small sample of your urine and drop a bit of acetic acid (vinegar) in to it. If it is phosphates, the urine will become clear immediately. Other reasons listed on this link >>>http://www.helium.com/items/707936-cloudy-urine-when-to-worry

What is the probability that their children will have the disease??-
ANSWER:
Autosomal Recessive means that you must have 2 copies of the recessive gene in order to be affected. To have Pompe, you must be pp.
Since the man had a brother that died from the disease, the brother was pp. In order for this to happen, his parents must be heterozygotes, Pp and Pp, as they were carriers and mated.
The likelihood of their offspring is Pp x Pp:
PP 1/4 not carrier
Pp 2/4 carriers
pp 1/4 affected/diesThe man who is alive is either Pp or PP, so 1/3 PP or 2/3 Pp.
The woman he marries is Pp.Now take the likelihood of the man's genotype and multiply that.
1/3 (PP x Pp) + 2/3 (Pp x Pp)
1/3 (2/4 PP + 2/4 Pp) + 2/3 (1/4 PP + 2/4 Pp + 1/4 pp)
2/12 PP + 2/12 Pp + 2/12 PP + 4/12 Pp + 2/12 pp4/12 PP
6/12 Pp
2/12 pp**2/12 pp
I think this is correct. You might want to check my math, as I am heading out. Email me with questions.

What is the probability that their children will have the disease??-
ANSWER:
1 chance in 8.
The man has a 0.5 chance of being a carrier, and his wife is a carrier. If they have children and both are carriers, the chance of having a child with the disease is 0.25. Multiply 0.25 by 0.5 and you get 0.125, or one chance in 8.
